Thanks for the comment. I actually make the borders that size for a reason. If you notice in many visuall art galleries (at least the ones I've seen) they do the same. The theory is that the white reates and "empty space" which in turn causes the eye to be drawn in toward the artwork. It also serves to prevent the surroundings from clashing with the art. Like a buffer zone.

It probably doesn't work quite as well in digital form, but heck, why not?
